Thanks to our members, we were able to donate enough money to purchase coats for children in three classrooms last year. The coats are keep the kids warm this winter!
.
Firefighters from Local 106 in Whatcom County raise money each year for Operation Warm. Money raised is used to purchase new coats for kids in schools with a high percentage of low income families. Every child in a designated classroom receives a coat, so everyone one stands out proudly in coats in their favorite color. Without these coats many children would have a very cold winter.
North Coast Credit Union originated in the Bellingham Firehouse in 1939 as the City of Bellingham Employees Credit Union. We are honored to support our firefighters fundraising efforts for our kids. .
We raise money for Operation Warm in two ways.
1. A Member Fundraiser, held during the summer and our Member Appreciation BBQs.
2. The "Learn to Save, Learn to Give" Report Card Rewards program. When a child brings us a report card we put $5 in their Savings Account. At the same time we donate $5 to Operation Warm.
Please consider making a donation for Operation Warm in your neighborhood branch any time of year. Or make your donation online at operationwarm.com Be sure to indicate Local 106, Bellingham /Whatcom County when you make your online donation to ensure your donation is used locally.
